Client-Friendly Questions

What can I expect during therapy?
Our first session is an introductory call, where we talk through what's brought you here, your goals, and get a feel for whether we're a good fit. From there, I conduct a thorough assessment of your concerns and needs, and we build a personalised therapy plan together one that may combine talk-based counselling with arts-based, somatic, or mindfulness approaches depending on what suits you. Every conversation is held in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space.

What is the process like, session to session?
Sessions typically run 50–60 minutes, usually starting weekly and moving to a bi-weekly rhythm as things progress. Each session is focused on your specific goals, whether that's processing a difficult emotion, building coping tools, or simply having a space to be heard. We regularly check in on what's working and adjust the approach as we go.

How do I know which therapeutic approach suits me?
You don't need to figure this out on your own. I draw from a range of approaches — including CBT, psychodynamic, person-centred, mindfulness-based, neurocounseling, clinical hypnotherapy and arts-based methods and tailor the mix based on what you're working through and how you naturally process things. This can evolve as we learn what resonates with you.

Is what I share confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is central to the therapeutic relationship. What you share in session stays private, with the standard exceptions that apply to all licensed practitioners, such as risk of serious harm to yourself or others, which I'll always explain clearly if it becomes relevant.

Is therapy personalised to me specifically?
Absolutely. There's no one-size-fits-all plan here. After understanding your history, goals, and what feels most natural to you (words, art, movement, or a mix), I build a therapy plan around that — and it continues to adapt as you grow and change through the process.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. This helps keep the process consistent and respects both our time. If something urgent comes up, just reach out as soon as you can and we'll sort it out together.
