She had been in online therapy for a while, consistent, thoughtful, and engaged.
The screen never felt like a barrier.
In fact, it gave her safety, distance, and space to reflect.
But when she walked into the therapy room for the first time, something shifted.
She looked around, sat down, and exhaled a different kind of breath.
One that wasn’t pixelated or delayed.
Just… present.
We began like always. But her words came faster.
Her pauses felt deeper.
Her emotions felt fuller.
And then she said, “I didn’t realise how much I was still holding back.
This being in the same room, it feels like something opened.”
That was the click.
The screen gave her access.
But the room gave her release.
The way her body moved. The tremor in her voice. The unspoken stories in her silence
They all came alive in the shared presence.
Therapy had always been working.
But this?
This helped her break through.
What spaces help you feel most seen not just heard?
